Log Grabs
& Skip Hammers
Proudly manufactured and assembled from start to finish in the USA.
Welcome to Horse Logger Supply. We are long-time horse loggers who have many years of experience of working in the woods along side of our equine partners. During this time we have come to appreciate many of the traditional tools that the teamsters of old took for granted. In modern times, some of these tools have become hard to come by. This fact has driven us to find new ways to source the tools that we have come to love and depend on over the years. Log Grabs and Skip Hammers are among those tools.
When ordering, please allow up to seven business days for order processing, especially when ordering tools that need to be assembled. We will always try to ship as quickly as possible, but with also working in the woods full-time, sometimes a few extra days are necessary.
Quality
Tools
Years ago, the big manufacturers of these tools decided it was no longer economical to produce them. Since then, it has been nearly impossible to find a reliable supplier of new log grabs and skip hammers. We are pleased to say that we are in a position to fill that role.
We deeply care about the quality of our tools because we rely on them on a daily basis as well. For this reason, we proudly stand behind our products, and look forward to serving you.

Rich DuMond
Rich DuMond grew up in a family of four boys and one girl. His father was a sort of jack-of-all-trades, and spent most of his years specializing in metal fabrication and blacksmithing. Rich and his brothers grew up working for their father and would all eventually follow in his footsteps in one way or another. For a time, Rich was a "professional" man who used his background in Business Education and Marketing to teach at a 9-12 Technical School. While he enjoyed teaching for a time, he is now a full-time Cornell trained farrier, and horse logger who uses his variety of experiences to benefit both crafts. He is fortunate to be partners with Bill, and to be able to develop under the wise, watchful eye of one of the bests. His hope is to be able to carry the torch, and to help to develop a new generation of mindful draft-powered loggers who will continue to move this way of life forward for the benefit of our animals, families, forests, and communities.
Bill Bailey
Bill Bailey grew up in the hills of Northeastern PA, where he still lives and works. He started working in the woods as a teenager, and out of logging crafted not only a career, but a lifestyle. He is known in his community and beyond as one of the most experienced, reputable, trustworthy sustainable timber harvesters around. He has been working in the woods for 50+ years now, and he spent many of those years using only draft power. Through those years, he developed a family full of teamsters and loggers. He has a passion for his work and his reputation, and carries with him a humbleness and wisdom that is extremely rare. Bill is the one to thank for these grabs and skippers being available, as it was his idea some 20 years ago to start having them poured out of ductile iron at the foundry in his home town.
